Nature and surroundings of Encinas Reales and the river Genil

The green cloak of the olive groves of Encinas Reales bestows upon the municipality's surroundings an almost paradisiacal hue, allowing visitors to escape into comfortable walks that will enable them to live a unique experience. And it is impossible to visit Encinas Reales without enjoying its nature and surroundings.

The sea of olive trees that surrounds the municipal area is bathed by two rivers, the Genil and the Anzur, the latter being a tributary of the former. Both are indissolubly linked with the life of the town's inhabitants. Proof of this is the wonderful enclaves built next to these natural water sources, such as the Tajo de Mariano, Tajo del Basto, or the Tajo del Chirrín.

In addition to the olive trees, a variety of rose bushes, oleanders, white poplars, holm oaks, tamarisks, ash trees, and blackberry bushes will blend their movement with the sound of nightingales, swifts, and turtledoves, thus enhancing the visitor's stroll.
